None of us can avoid the mud of spring, at least not if dogs live at your house! They have to go out, they still need their exercise as well as the obvious potty walks. But walks can be had on mud free pavement in cities and towns! The backyard in spring is a different matter – ours is an absolute mess this year after last year’s introduction of “the puppies”!
Re-seeding is an impossible task even though the dogs are older now and far better behaved! We knew the dogs would calm down considerably both with age and with training, but seeding a lawn takes so-o-o long – our dogs would go crazy waiting! Instead we intend to sod the back yard. The only way we figure we’ll get to enjoy our garden this year as most of any grass we used to have is in dire shape! One of our past foster pups had a penchant for digging and his evidence is clearly visible now that the snow is gone! Hence Mia’s little adventure!
To all my dog loving friends; I FEEL YOU!!!! It’s time for the mops and the towels and the mess and it’s such a bother. But we all know that muddy puppies are happy puppies and when they crash out from all that running and romping you’ll be able to catch up on the mess once again. Just think, when it’s done it will be fall before we have to do this again!

Work is not man’s punishment. It is his reward and his strength and his pleasure.
People are just about as happy as they make up their minds to be.
It’s really well done! Respect to author.
